Jharkhand is the state, which is the largest reservoir of rich mineral resources in India, its like a roor of India, but despite this its economy comes at 20th and above position in terms of per capita income and GSDP both. This issue was explored extensively at the conclave of Indian Economic Association held at Ranchi last month.
This conclave was attended by hundreds of economists, academicians, teachers and reseracher under the banner of IEA, a largest conglomeration of economic professionals in the country. The conference was inaugurated by the state governor, Mr. Ramesh Vishya and presided by ADN Vajpayee and attended by a half a dozen vice chancellors and so on. Mr. Vishwajeet Ghosh was chosen as the president and Mr. Ravindra Brahme was elected new secretary of the association.
