A three-day National Women’s Conference was inaugurated at the Om Shanti Retreat Centre (ORC), Bhora Kalan, under the theme “Women’s Safety through Spirituality.” The inaugural session was held at the Dadi Prakashmani Auditorium.

As the Chief Guest, Dr. R. H. Latha, Founder President of the Indian Yogini Association, addressed the gathering and emphasized that spirituality is essential for women’s safety. She stated that self-respect is vital for women and that many social distortions are the root causes of insecurity. She added that there is a serious lack of values in families today. Spirituality inspires us to listen to our inner voice — the voice of our conscience. Through her initiative, Yogini Homestay, she works for women’s social security, but she acknowledged that the Brahma Kumaris organization is empowering women spiritually from the grassroots to the global level.

On this occasion, Rajyogini Asha Didi, Director of ORC, inspired everyone with her words of wisdom. She said that along with physical safety, it is equally important to ensure the safety of moral values. The rise of insecurity stems from the decline of spiritual and ethical values. She pointed out that impure thoughts and negative attitudes lead to adverse incidents. Because of a materialistic outlook, we have forgotten our true inner selves. Spirituality reconnects us with our soul and enhances our inner virtues.

Asha Didi added that lack of trust, doubt, and discrimination leads to insecurity. She highlighted the greatness of Indian culture and said that children must be introduced to these cultural values. Character-building, she said, is the ultimate solution to all problems. A change in perspective is necessary — boys and girls should be treated equally. True protection lies in pure and positive thoughts, which form our real shield of safety.

Rajyogini Chakradhari Didi, Chairperson of the Women’s Wing of the Brahma Kumaris, gave her blessings. She stated that a woman not only protects herself but also safeguards her entire family. When a woman attains inner peace and stability, she becomes a mirror — a source of safety for others. True safety is not merely external but arises from inner stability. An insecure mind gives rise to fear and stress, while spirituality connects us to our divine qualities and strengthens us internally.

Social worker Poonam Malhotra from Dadhichi Deh Daan Samiti said that women’s safety is vital because women are the axis of the family. She emphasized that the greatest weakness today is polluted thinking, and only spirituality can bring about purity of thought. She praised the Brahma Kumaris for their great contribution in this direction, as spirituality makes us positive and powerful.

Dr. Savita, National Coordinator of the Women’s Wing, said that inner power is necessary to guide life in the right direction. She stressed that before physical safety, we must give priority to mental safety, because a mentally strong person can face any external challenge.

Among other speakers were Kiran Srivastava, President of AIWC Ghaziabad; Gauri Sareen, Founder of Making Model Gurugram; Dr. Geeta, President of the All India Women Lawyers Association; Divya Miglani, Formula Car Racer; Rajyogini Pushpa Didi, Director of the Delhi Karol Bagh centre; and BK Shakti, who also shared their views.

Singer Chand Bajaj presented a song expressing sentiments of women’s respect and dignity. Artists Simran, Aarohi, and Arya from Swastik Kala Kendra captivated the audience with a dance performance on the theme “The woman will bring welfare to all.” The conference was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The program was beautifully conducted by BK Lata. More than 1,000 women and others attended the event.
